The 193-Member United Nations General Assembly today formally adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, along with a set of bold new Global Goals, which Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon hailed as a universal, integrated and transformative vision for a better world.

World Scouting hails adoption of UN Sustainable Development Goals

The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) congratulates the United Nations and its member states for the decision to adopt the new framework, Transforming Our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This is indeed a historic step covering areas of critical importance for humanity and the planet.

It is important to recollect that Scouts from around the world have strongly contributed to the Post-2015 processes to help arrive at the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

Scouting 101: Methods of World Scouting in Management Education

The BAS in Supervision and Management program has incorporated innovative learning strategies and contents from different industries and organizations. They include corporations, government, academia, nonprofits, churches, and youth groups. Managing people requires values and methods that could come from other areas beyond the workplace and traditional content developed for management education. This study takes the risk of exploring outside-academia learning strategies and the essential characteristics of the World Scouting Movement and its contribution, not only to the education of young people, but also to the education of potential managers or leaders outside Scouting, with emphasis in the workplace.
